Newfoundland Labrador Provincial Nominee Program
Newfoundland and Labrador, like other parts of Atlantic Canada, is known for its friendly and community-oriented nature. The people here love storytelling, cracking jokes, and may even stretch the truth a little bit. While the unique accent and vocabulary of the locals may take some getting used to, it adds to the charm of this one-of-a-kind region. In fact, Newfoundland and Labrador has been voted as one of the top 10 friendliest cultures in the world. The colorful buildings, distinctive town names, music echoing from every corner, and even a Dictionary of Newfoundland English contribute to the province’s desirability. Moreover, Newfoundland and Labrador has its own time zone, adding to its uniqueness.
While Labrador is larger in size, more than 90 percent of the province’s residents live on the island of Newfoundland, with a significant portion concentrated in and around the capital city of St. John’s. The economy of Newfoundland and Labrador is driven by various sectors including oil and gas, mining, logging, manufacturing, fisheries, construction, tourism, finance, and business.
