A Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is a type of work permit that allows international students who have graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution to gain valuable Canadian work experience after completing their studies.
The student must have completed a full-time program of study at a Canadian post-secondary institution that is at least eight months long and leads to a degree, diploma or certificate.
The educational institution where the student completed their program must be designated by the government to host international students.
The student must have a valid study permit when applying for the PGWP.
The student must apply for the PGWP within 180 days of receiving a written confirmation from the educational institution that they have met the requirements for completing their program of study.
The student must meet all eligibility criteria for the work permit, including health and security requirements.
