The Atlantic Immigration

The Atlantic Immigration Program

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a federal immigration program that aims to attract and retain skilled workers to the four Atlantic provinces of Canada, which include New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The program is designed to address the unique demographic and economic challenges faced by the region and to support its economic growth and development.

Under the AIP, employers in the Atlantic region can hire eligible foreign workers to fill vacant positions, provided that they are unable to find Canadian citizens or permanent residents to do the job.

The program has three main streams:

This stream is designed for skilled workers with work experience in management, professional, or technical positions.

This stream is designed for workers in intermediate-skilled positions, such as tradespeople, technicians, and clerical workers.

This stream is designed for international students who have graduated from a designated post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada, and who have a job offer in a skilled occupation.
